DOUG Kramer was in the stands during NorthPort’s 105-104 win over San Miguel in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup at the Ynares Center on Tuesday.
Of course, Kramer was there to support his brother-in-law Arvin Tolentino, who was one of the heroes in the Batang Pier’s huge win over the Beermen.
“Sa Ginebra pa ako, nanonood siya. But first time niya ulit ngayon kasama si Gavin, ‘yung pamangkin ko,” said Tolentino, who joked that he needed to play a great game on Tuesday in front of his brother-in-law.
Or else.
“Nakaka-inspire kasi siyempre andoon si Doug, mamaya kaltukan ako nun,” said Tolentino smiling.

Tolentino is married to Brandy Kramer, Doug’s youngest sister. Doug had a 12-year career in the PBA, which included a stint with GlobalPort, now called NorthPort of which Tolentino is currently playing, from 2015 to 2016.
Kramer also played for Ateneo, where Tolentino also spent his first few years in college before transferring to Far Eastern University.
Kramer retired in 2019 after playing for Phoenix, and along with wife Cheska and his family are now one of the top celebrity endorsers in the country.

Tolentino admitted he got nervous the first time he met Kramer. Now, the NorthPort star said he treats his brother-in-law as a ‘kuya’ since he doesn’t have one, their relationship going beyond basketball.
“We are great. He’s like a kuya. Kuya ko talaga si Doug, ever since first time kami nagkita. Medyo kabado ako nun, player pa siya nun eh,” he added.
“But Doug is a great guy, great person. Very loving siya sa amin kasi bunso si Brandy. He is always there to guide us,” said Tolentino.
Tolentino is thankful to have a 'bayaw' like Kramer that has become a guiding presence for him and his wife.

“Thankful ako sa relationship namin. He is really like a kuya to me kasi wala akong kuya. Siya ‘yung tumayo since 10 years kami ni wifey,” said Tolentino.
