THE Smart-Araneta Coliseum is ready to host sporting events such as the PBA again after obtaining a safety seal from the Quezon City government.
In a post on its Facebook page, the Big Dome shared that it is the first indoor venue to receive a safety seal certificate after passing inspection by the Quezon City Safety Seal Certification Committee.
Vaccination site
The historic Araneta Coliseum served as a mega vaccination site during the pandemic, when concerts and sports events which the venue used to host were shelved.
Meanwhile, in a report by Glen Juego of radio DZBB, Big Dome officials bared that it has already met with the PBA for the possible staging of the games amid the easing of restrictions in Metro Manila.
The PBA is already preparing for the eventuality of opening its games to the public for the first time during the pandemic, as it waits for the go-signal from the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF).
Recently, cinemas have been allowed to open at limited capacity after Metro Manila's safety protocols were downgraded to Alert Level 2.
