KIEFER Ravena still has a few more months before he can play basketball again, and someone is eagerly waiting until he’s finally back.
Last Sunday at the Philippine Arena, Ravena’s girlfriend, volleyball superstar Alyssa Valdez, paraded as the muse for team NLEX.
“Representative daw muna ako [ni Kiefer],” she said smiling.
Valdez could not help but feel sad that Ravena still can’t attend a basketball game, even as a spectator. Kiefer is still serving his 18-month ban after testing positive for banned substances included on the World Anti-Doping Agency list, during the Gilas Pilipinas' Fiba World Cup qualifier last February.
Valdez, however, is trying to look at the bright side.
“No, syempre we’re very sad naman na hindi pa makakalaro pero konting tiis na lang talaga and he’ll be back for sure stronger than ever naman talaga,” she said.
“We’re just looking forward na this is a blessing in disguise for him also and para sa career niya in the PBA,” she added.
Valdez is also optimistic for Ravena to represent the country in the Southeast Asian Games, which will be held in Manila in December.
“And we’re really looking forward na irepresent niya din yung country natin this coming SEA Games, and lahat pa ng international tournaments,” she said.
