CARLOS Yulo has one more milestone to celebrate after completing his Asian Games golden haul in Aichi-Nagoya.
The Filipino gymnastics star revealed on Monday that he and longtime partner Chloe San Jose have been engaged since December 18, 2025, keeping the news private for nine months before finally sharing it with the world.

The revelation came just days after Yulo completed the final missing piece of his decorated resumé, winning two gold medals at the Asian Games in Japan.
“For 9 months, we’ve been treasuring this beautiful secret between us, quietly smiling to ourselves and taking our time to cherish it, knowing that one day we’d finally share it with the world,” Yulo wrote on Instagram.
Yulo, 26, said their relationship began with a simple message from San Jose: “Hi, I’m a fan po.”
Neither, he admitted, could have known where that message would lead.
From there came years of airports, competitions, hotel rooms and long training days, with San Jose becoming a constant presence as Yulo built one of the most accomplished careers in Philippine sports.
She was by his side through the biggest highs, including his historic double-gold performance at the Paris Olympics two years ago, when Yulo became the Philippines’ first male Olympic champion and won two gold medals in a single Games.
She also remained with him through the more difficult chapters, including the longstanding family conflicts that have played out publicly around the gymnast.
Yulo acknowledged those difficult moments in his engagement announcement that ultimately brought the couple to where they are now.
“We grew up together. We learned together. We fought for each other, protected each other, supported each other, and built a life of our own,” Yulo said.
“Mahal ko, I would choose you in every lifetime. And now, we get to choose each other for the rest of this one. I love you. Forever.”
