One-and-done star Val Chauca of the Adamson Soaring Falcons is no stranger to dropping dimes, but it's a different matter altogether beyond the four corners of a basketball court.

As fire hit a residential area in Ermita, Manila — a few blocks away from the Adamson University — on a Thursday afternoon, Chauca and other Soaring Falcons were quick on their feet to offer a hand.

"Please pray for San Marcelino Street and Zobel Street families and friends," Chauca captioned an actual footage of the flames on Twitter.

Some residents witnessed how the Adamson point guard dished out real-life assists and helped victims evacuate from the tragedy.

"Grabe talaga si val chauca, kaya sayo ako. grabe yung malasakit sa mga apektado ng sunog. salute!!!!" @shaipapsi wrote.

User @rdngtn_ shared, "I saw him earlier practicing with AdU MBT and now he's helping the people affected by the fire now in zobel. Salute!"

The fire was put out at around 3:50 p.m., but Chauca continued to offer his assistance in the area and gave updates on social media until late night.

His 7:03 p.m. post read, "If you are hungry food is being served in SV Hall now."

The Adamson star proved that he's got a heart for the community — not just on the court, but also in extreme circumstances.

He said, "Shoutout to all Adamson sports teams men & women for assisting the victims of the fire today. Special s/o to our MBT, very proud of how swiftly rookies and veterans took action and contributed today, job well done boys."

It didn't take long for netizens to express their gratitude to the compassionate dude.

User @lnclnv also tweeted, "Valandre does more for Adamson and its community in less than a year, than others who have spent almost a decade in Adamson #KingFalcon."

Chauca, however, downplayed his contribution to the San Marcelino-based community.

"There were hundreds of heroes out there today doing what I was doing and more. Just glad I could do my part, that's all," he said.
