VETERAN PVL middle blocker Aby Maraño confirmed her breakup with partner Kamille Cal through a poignant Instagram post, signaling the end of a relationship that had been closely followed by volleyball fans over the past few years.
Maraño, 33, shared a heartfelt note about the conclusion of her relationship with Cal.

“Nagpatiwakal na naman ang araw sa dapit-hapon — patunay na may magandang dulot rin ang isang pagtatapos. Tinatapos nito ang pahina ng isang buong araw habang pinipintahan ng makapigil-hiningang mga kulay ang langit."
She went on to share a deeply personal reflection on coming to terms with the breakup.
“Pagkatapos ng maraming repleksyon, tinatanggap ko na ngayon ang kapalaran ko," she said.
“Dadalhin ko na lang ang lahat ng masasayang mga tawanan, masasayang araw ng pagmamahalan, higpit ng mga yakapan at ibabaon na lamang sa kailaliman ng kawalan ang mga hindi magpapaalala sa akin kung paano ko naramdaman ang wagas na pag-ibig mula sayo at kung gaano ako naging masaya sa piling mo."
She also thanked those who had supported them throughout their relationship and sought privacy in the meantime.
Maraño and Cal, 24, had been publicly linked since 2021 and were affectionately known among fans as 'TyaCal,' combining Maraño’s 'Tyang Aby' moniker with the 24-year-old playmaker's surname.
Their relationship went through ups and downs and unfolded alongside their pro careers in the PVL, with Cal a mainstay at Akari while Maraño recently joining sister team Nxled after Chery Tiggo's disbandment last year, placing both athletes under the same umbrella.
Beyond volleyball, the couple also ventured into business together, launching their 'TyaCal Scents' perfume line among other entrepreneurial forays outside the sport.
While neither Maraño nor Cal elaborated further on the reasons behind the split, Maraño’s message suggested a reflective and respectful end to their relationship as both move forward to new chapters in their lives.
