KIEFER Ravena wore a different hat on Friday as he served as the de facto social media coordinator for Gilas Pilipinas.
Still prohibited from seeing any on-court action, Ravena took on the role of play-by-play man on Twitter when the Philippines played the Democratic Republic of Congo in its opening game in the Torneo de Malaga in Spain.
Ravena inserted his quick wit to go with his on-point analysis as he constantly served updates on the match to his Twitter followers.
Unfortunately, Gilas lost the game, 82-71.
Still, it was a solid job for the 25-year-old Ravena, who has always been media-savvy from his days in Ateneo.
Ravena is still two weeks away from the expiration of his Fiba-imposed 18-month ban and is looking forward to August 24 when he can finally play with the rest of the national team in time for the 2019 Fiba World Cup in China.
