Apart from the impressions left by Meralco and San Miguel during the eliminations, the EASL’s scoreboard technology for the two-day playoffs was powered by another Filipino team in Kantigo Sports.

In a competitive field of global options, Kantigo Sports emerged as the standout choice for the league’s scoring solutions. The decision to go with a homegrown, gawang-Pinoy brand highlights the quality and innovation of Filipino craftsmanship on the international stage.

Joel Mesias, owner of Kantigo Sports, shared that this wasn’t the first time EASL entrusted them at their most crucial stretch during a season.

"We’re proud to provide our services to the EASL," Mesias told SPIN.ph. "They first trusted us in 2018, and ever since, whenever there’s a game in Macao or the Philippines, they turn to us."

He continued: “Even though there’s no Filipino team in the semis this year, we’re still happy to represent Filipino talent on the international stage."

Kantigo Sports is also the same company behind the FIBA World Cup Qualifiers and the Southeast Asian Games held in the Philippines in recent years.

“We don’t just handle the scoreboard, we also provide data directly to the production team,” Mesias explained, adding that they make sure to give an assist to all teams, whether on or off the court.

“They’ve told us that they appreciate our automated system because it makes their work much easier.”

Kantigo Sports started designing and selling its systems around 2017 in Tagum City, Davao.

Their big break came with the FIBA qualifiers the following year, which helped them gain international clients like EASL.

Mesias emphasized the importance of making sure that technical part of the game is secured, so it won't cause confusion among players, officials, and audience.

“With Kantigo, the workload of the table officials and production staff is lighter,” Mesias said. “We’re proud to represent the Philippines every time international clients call on us.”
