Gaming laptops for school, as DepEd San Pablo releases TUF Gaming rigs for personnel

YESTERDAY, the Department of Education announced that it had turned over 103 laptops to the local school divisions office in San Pablo, Laguna.

Based on the released pictures, the laptops carried the TUF Gaming brand. TUF Gaming is the gaming sub-brand of computer manufacturer Asus.

It is unclear which variant of laptop the DepEd procured. The most inexpensive computer in the TUF Gaming laptop line is the TUF Gaming FX505DY-AL226T, which has a standard retail price of P38,995, according to Asus’ website.

It has a 15.6-inch screen, a Ryzen 5 processor, 4 GB of RAM, an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 video card with 4GB RAM, and 1TB of SATA hard drive space.

Of course, as a gaming laptop, it also has a light-up RGB keyboard.

Other configurations of the TUF Gaming series of laptops can go as high as P79,995. These come with better processors and video cards, as well as bigger storage space.

According to the post from the Department of Education, San Pablo City: “The recipients are the 80 Learning Resource Coordinators of elementary and secondary school plus 23 Division Personnel.”

It added that this was part of the local government’s support for the Basic Education Learning Continuity Plan.

In the comments, the government agency thanked Mayor Amben Amante for the initiative.
