It could be basketball, taekwondo, tennis, chess, or the new craze volleyball. But finding one that is trustworthy and suits your schedule and budget isn't easy.

When it comes to summer sports clinics, there is nothing better than the MILO Summer Sports Clinics, which have been running for over three decades now.
This year, MILO's Summer Sports Clinics have been expanded to 37 sports disciplines from softball to parkour to judo to jump rope, and spread across the archipelago from Luzon to Mindanao.
You name it, they have it.
“We will have 1,200 venues for the clinics all over the Philippines this year. This is the biggest culmination of our grassroots programs,” said Carlo Sampan, head of MILO Sports.
“And this year, mas maraming sports from basketball, tennis, swimming and volleyball to athletics, sepak takraw, arnis, karatedo, baseball, soccer, table tennis, fencing, cheerdance, Jiu-jitsu, soft tennis, surfing, weightlifting, golf and even ice skating and speed skating," he added.
Here's a list of MILO's summer sports clinics, their schedules and venues.
When it comes to basketball, there's nothing like the pioneering BEST (Basketball Efficiency and Scientific Training) Center, which as founded by the late national coach Nic Jorge in 1978 and has produced stars like Benjie Paras, Jun Limpot, Kiefer Ravena and Chris Tiu.
Most of BEST Center's summer clinics are already underway, but there are still seven scheduled in Cagayan e Oro (May 19-24 at the St. Mary's School), Calamba, Laguna (May 25, June 1, 8, 15, 22, 29) at the Inspire Sports Academy, Lucena (May 26 to 31 at the Inigo Sports Center), Malate Catholic School in Manila (May 27, 29, 31, June 2, 3, 4, 6), Baguio City (June 30 to July 5 at the PFVR Gymnasium) and Quezon City (June 7 to July 19 at the Ateneo College Covered Courts).

As for the fees, the BEST Center basketball clinics usually charge P5,000 for classes among participants 9 years old and above and P5,500 for participants in the clinics for 5 to 8 years old. Rates are cheaper in the provinces.
BEST Center has also expanded to include volleyball clinics, which it will hold in Manila (May 27, 29, 31 June 2, 3, 4, 6 at the Malate Catholic School), Iloilo City (May 19 to 24 at the Angelicum School of Iloilo covered courts), and Quezon City (June 7 to July 19 at the Ateneo College Covered Courts).
Fees for the volleyball clinics are at P5,300.
Meanwhile, the traditional SMART/MVP Sports Foundation Taekwondo Summer Program of the Philippine Taekwondo Association (PTA) is underway all over the country and will go on until June 8.
The PTA has added branches in Region 1 to XII, including the CAR, ARMM, and CARAGA, plus the elite clubs of the Philippine National Police and Armed Forces of the Philippines - all willing to guide the participants.

The fees vary, but a two-month course at the PTA main headquarters cost P7,000.
For golf, there are also a number of clinics being held this summer in the country's public courses including at Villamor, where 40-minute lessons are offered for free to kids of enlisted personnel and private families on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays for the months of May and June.

When it comes to chess, the go-to program is the multi-awarded MILO Checkmate Classes which National Master Mila Emperado has ran year round for more than three decades now.
For this summer, the final evaluation for the 1st batch of students was held last Sunday, May 11, at the Starmall Edsa Shaw in Mandaluyong, where enrollees were divided into three groups and compete against higher-rated opponents.
The second offering of the Milo Checkmate Summer Clinics will start on May 14 at Quezon City and Mandaluyong while on May 15 in Paranaque. The clinics will be offered twice a week and/or during weekends only.
The schedules and venues are as follows: Wednesdays and Saturdays - 9:15-11:30am Quezon City and 2:00-4:15pm at Starmall Edsa Shaw. Thursdays and Sundays - 9:00-11:15am and 2:00-4:15pm in Paranague.
