UNDER Armour’s Curry Brand broke cover on NBA superstar Stephen Curry’s latest signature shoe: the Curry 12.
Three new galaxy-inspired colorways will be released within the next month, with the first - the Curry 12 ‘Gravity’ - already out.
Inspired by the ‘gravitational force that surrounds Stephen on the court,’ the brand describes the light gray color with hints of black and neon green on the side as embodiments of ‘particles floating through the universe’ in line with its galaxy theme.
Apart from its cutting edge design, the Curry 12 ‘Gravity’ offers a unique experience of comfort and traction through the signature UA Flow technology infused on the shoe’s outsole and midsole.
Fit for a Warrior
Longtime Under Armour Philippines ambassador and NLEX Road Warrior Sean Anthony already had first crack at the Curry 12s on the court and has repped the brand for six years now.
True to the brand’s core, its high-performance features make the Curry 12s and the brand itself stand out in the sneaker game.
“I actually played in the Curry 12s. I have the USA edition and I’ve been playing with them. I think they’re extra comfy. I feel like it has a little more cushion over the Curry 11 so you can feel a little more comfort when you play,” Anthony said.
“With the foam, you have the grippiness, the quickness, and the traction that’s always there with the Currys. I always love playing in the Currys.”
As Anthony puts it, “The biggest difference for me is the Flow technology of the Curry shoes. The foam inside, as you can see, the sole with the foam has extra traction so it has the grip and the comfort that other shoes don’t have.
“I think the last four Currys have had the Flow, so that’s what I like and I think that’s what separates them from other shoes.”
Colors of the galaxy
He's also an avid fan of the clean fusion of color in the ‘Gravity’ shoe line, defying expectations time and time again.
“When you have the gray and just the hint of the neon green, it’s a nice, little compliment, right? When you have a style of play like me, the white shoes will turn gray anyway. When it’s already gray, it’s nice.
“I always like a bit of color. A little neon green on the side is cool. I love the colorway.”
The black ‘Wardell Mode’ colorway will be released on Nov. 8, followed by the white ‘Shooting Star’ on Nov. 22.
Curry 12 ‘Gravity’ is now available on UA.com and in retail stores at SRP P9,695.
