BEFORE the rise of underground clothing, American denim brand Lee has stood its ground for decades, bringing free-spirited vibes to the new era of streetwear anew.
And for its 130th anniversary, Lee collaborates with trademark giant Smiley for a vintage-themed collection.
The grinning yellow symbol brand tweaked Lee's signature blue denim material by incorporating their bright logos to the latter's monochrome jeans. This made it look like the logos are playing a game of hide-and-seek, full of upbeat and youthful energy.
The apparel heavyweight said in a statement: "Versatile and functional, this Lee X Smiley collection is a cool, comfortable and truly epochal collaboration between two legacy brands, marrying Lee's classic denim heritage with the iconic yellow Smiley face."
New designs include stretchable pull-overs, oversized sweatshirts, denim ensembles, and the classic basic tees.
Bringing back retro vibes, the collection included some vintage flare jeans and jumpers.
The team-up has an indescribable appeal that lets the pieces make noise in the fashion spectrum, and hopefully bring smiles to people's faces.
"Smiley has become more than just an icon, a brand and a lifestyle: it is now a spirit and a philosophy, reminding people just how powerful a smile can be."
