What better way for Russell Westbrook to push the fashion envelope than with an apparel collection that shows off his eccentric sense of style?
The Houston Rockets point guard recently unveiled his new collaboration with Jordan Brand and American clothing brand and retailer Opening Ceremony — the latter's first "athlete-design project."
Russ was quoted by Nike.com: "I've always loved fashion and the creative process when it comes to designing. When the opportunity came for me and Jordan Brand to collaborate with another brand, Opening Ceremony was a perfect match. I liked the idea of doing something with bold color patterns and adventurous silhouettes, and I’m excited to see this collection come to life."
Taking cues from the former NBA MVP's personal lookbook, the six-piece line basically "reimagines classic Air Jordan sillhouettes to create fresh limited-edition styles." It consists of an overcoat, an oversized hoodie and tee, a color-blocked track jacket and pants, and a sweatpant-trouser hybrid.
Opening Ceremony co-founder and creative director Humberto Leon described working with the Brodie "a creative dialogue and synergy of true collaboration."
Russ, much like his Houston teammate James Harden, has been serving up some of the wildest pregame looks that the league has ever seen. A quick look scroll through his Instagram feed shows why he's the unanimous NBA fashion king:
We're keeping our fingers crossed that the Opening Ceremony x Jordan Brand x Russell Westbrook collection gets a Philippine release. The collection is currently available via Opening Ceremony's official website and stores in New York, Los Angeles and Tokyo.
