THE Philippines is included in Nike’s limited edition series of signature shoes meant to honor retiring basketball superstar Kobe Bryant.
Every pair of sneakers in the “Fade to Black” pack has a connection to a specific location around the world, with each unique box containing the latitude and longitude coordinates of a city.
Released in 2011, the Kobe 6 represents the “Manila” retro version. The shoe has a River Rock colorway and commemorates the Los Angeles Laker star’s visit on the same year. The story references Filipino’s passion for hoops and a pick-up game where Bryant participated against UAAP players.
The Nike Kobe 6 'Manila' is priced at $200 and will be made available on April 5 (April 6, Manila time).
