AS the NBA Playoffs continue to put on a show, Nike unveiled a special pack commemorating the biggest moments that made the beloved sport of basketball what it is today.

Each postseason, 16 is the one number that every NBA player aspires for — meaning win 16 games en route to basketball immortality. This number is the difference between glory and a nagging, lifelong regret of what could have been. It is what stands between every player and his ultimate goal. No. 16 demands the very best of them, to rise to the occasion and to deliver in the do-or-die moments.

The ‘Art of a Champion’ pack cements the performances of some of the members of Nike's exclusive basketball royalty. Even though not all of them won the grand prize, each sneaker has served as a big part of the athlete's basketball journey. For all but two of these, the metaphor of 16 rings true.
