AFTER a decade-long wait, sneakerheads will soon get the chance to own the fourth edition of Penny Hardaway’s Nike signature shoes collection.
According to a Sole Collector report, Nike continues its retro releases with the Nike Air Penny IV, the shoe the popular 6-7 point guard wore when he was traded by the Orlando Magic to the Phoenix Suns. It was also the last signature sneaker he wore in his playing career before the Air Penny V made its debut in 2012
The Air Penny IV had several features that made it stand out when it was first released in 1998- the top strapping and overlaying materials that hid the laces, the combination of leather, suede and woven upper. The prominent location of the iconic 1 cent logo and the visible Air cushioning also made it popular among sneakerheads.
The initial releases, set sometime on 2017, will be in the “Home” and “Away” of the Orlando Magic’s blue, black and white colorways.
