ASIDE from his dyed hair, his on- and off-court antics and rebounding prowess, Dennis Rodman also had one more memorable aspect of his game: his shoes. Sneakerheads and 'The Wprm' fans alike are set for a new year treat with a re-release of one of Rodman's beloved shoes.
According to a Sole Collector report, Nike will have a retro release of the Air Shake Ndestrukt, Rodman's signature sneaker in 1996 he wore was part of a legendary Chicago Bulls team led by Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen.
The retro models of the much-coveted and unconventional-looking basketball shoes were confirmed by a retailer who said pairs will come in home (white, red and black) and away (black and white) colorways in the fist half of 2017.
The Air Shake Ndestrukt has a unique, off-center lacing system that was designed by Nike's Eric Avar, who used Rodman's eccentric personality as his inspiration for designing the shoe.
Among sneakerheads, the Shake has earned a cult following, having stood out among other shoes on the court at the time with its asymmetrical lacing, a rugged outsole and a prominent Swoosh with jeweled "AIR" logo on the upper. The Ndestrukt line was meant for durability for indoor or outdoor play.
