NIKE takes its dive into the Filipino culture into a deeper level as it has partnered with Pinoy basketball lifestyle brand Titan in the creation of LeBron James’ 16th signature shoe with a local culture-inspired colorway.
Both brands unveil the LeBron 16 Low x Titan “Agimat,” which features a stretch collar that expands to let cagers get their foot in easier, while the custom lacing strengthens the fit to whatever each athlete specifically needs.
Apart from the cut, what sets this LeBron 16 version apart are the two new badges on display – the shield inspired by the Bagobo tribe’s traditional armor and ‘lightning’ – both symbolizing James’ stature as the 34-year-old tries to lead the Los Angeles Lakers in their bid to relive lost glory.
“We are proud and excited that our partnership with Nike is on the Agimat, with its iconic relevance to the people of the Philippines,” Titan chief brand officer Levon Rondina said. “Since it first launched in 2017, the Agimat has rooted itself not just in basketball performance but also the culture around the game.”
“We are proud to continue deepening that connection through design and storytelling true to Titan’s heritage, culture and spirit.”
You can get a pair of the LeBron 16 Low x Titan “Agimat” for P8,545 at Titan stores, the Titan App, and Titan22.com.
“We are thrilled to have worked with Titan on this special collaboration of the LeBron 16 Low x Titan “Agimat”. Titan’s love of the game has helped established them as an authentic and vital lifeline of Manila’s basketball scene,” Nike Philippines country marketing manager Jino Ferrer said.
“We are confident that the Agimat aptly inspires athletes to raise their game on and off the court; to the next level and beyond,” he added.
