NIKE has finally unveiled a revolutionary shoe that utilizes an 'adaptive lacing' technology, allowing the shoe to automatically gauge the wearer’s size and lace by itself.
The apparel giant revealed the groundbreaking shoe, named Nike HyperAdapt 1.0, during the Nike Innovation 2016 event held in New York City on Wednesday (Thursday, Manila time).
The HyperAdapt was designed by Tinker Hatfield and Tiffany Beers who have been working on the project since 2013. And in a short vide below, Portuguese football player Cristiano Ronaldo Portuguese gets first crack and shares a feel of the Nike HyperAdapt 1.0 in action.
Wow! Thanks @Nike for letting me be the first athlete trying the new HyperAdapt 1.0 ?#nike2016 ?#nikeinnovation pic.twitter.com/RVWZgJjkqf

The scene seems like something out of a sci-fi movie but in reality, the self-lacing mechanism kicks in after the heel of the wearer hits a sensor in the shoe. There are also buttons on the side where you can either loosen or tighten the laces for the perfect fit.
The Nike HyperAdapt 1.0 will exclusively be available to members of Nike+ during the holidays.
