Unique Nike Air Force 1 shoe designs highlight Battle Force Manila

Nike celebrates PH hoops culture and iconic Air Force 1
Nov 1, 2018

NIKE is set to celebrate the Philippine basketball culture not only through hoops and footwear, but via other fields like dance, art, and rap in the upcoming edition of Battle Force Manila.

Ateneo standouts Katrina Guytingco and Thirdy Ravena represent basketball, Gab Valenciano and AC Lalata for dance, Loonie for rap, and Kayo Cosio for art in the series of activities and videos that will be released for participants to improve their craft and prepare them for battle.

Nike calls for greater participation among women in all the battles, which are capped by a finale where finalists will battle it out in basketball, dance, rap, and art.

Battle Force Manila also pays tribute to the classic Air Force 1 shoe, commissioning creative group Blank Canvas Collective to depict reimagined expressions of the iconic sneakers, with a new unique design dropping every Friday for the entire month.

“Basketball is an integral part of Filipinos’ lives. With Battle Force Manila, Nike celebrates how the game has influenced the culture and lifestyle of athletes, artists, dancers and musicians; on and off the court,” Nike Philippines country marketing manager Jino Ferrer said.
