THE GRANDEST run in the country is soon to be making its return to the sports scene.
Starting with the comeback of MILO Marathon in March, MILO PH is urging kids (and kids at heart) to go from couch to court, bringing back its sports programs this 2023.
The brand's grassroots program has always hit home for a lot of Pinoy athletes for the past decades, and after a three-year halt due to the pandemic, it's back in business once again.
"We believe that sports is a great teacher and it instills life long values like grit, perseverance, hard work, team work, confidence... values that make champions in life," Veronica Cruz, Senior Vice President of Nestle PH for MILO Business Unit announced during the MILO Active Pilipinas launch last Saturday.
She continued: "Coming from being just in front of screens since 2020, today we're really excited to get those kids from couch to court."
Carlo Sampan, head of MILO Sports, added: "[In MILO] what we believe in is that sports really is a great teacher and not just that, a great equalizer."
And to make it more exciting, the brand introcued its newest ambassador in world-class pole vaulter EJ Obiena.
"MILO holds a special place in my heart because it's been with me since childhood, from drinking it and till now, MILO has provided support for me being an athlete," Obiena said in a video (he is currently competing in Europe).
Obiena joins the likes of Hidilyn Diaz, Alyssa Valdez, Kiefer Ravena, and Japoy Lizardo, who were former famous faces for MILO.
Valdez, who graced the kids with her presence during the launch, also shared a short story regarding her experience.
"Nung bata ako, isa sa motivation ko pagpasok ng school is yung paglalaro ng volleyball, pero pagdating ko sa Manila, nakita ko na iba pala talaga compared to what I had in Batangas. I believed in the grassroots programs that I was able to see in my training in UST-HS, Ateneo, and MILO."
The MILO Marathon is penciled for March 26, 2023.
