FINALLY, after months of teasers — including a sketch and blueprints, as well as fuzzy Instagram posts of LeBron seemingly wearing them in bubble practice — the Nike LeBron XVIII has finally been unveiled.
The Lakers star’s next signature shoe retains the knitted look of the LeBron 17s, but with a TPU heel counter and Flywire reinforcement zigzagging across the uppers. The upper from last year has been upgraded into Knitposite 2.0, a blend of fabrics that Nike says was culled from James’ last three signature shoes.
On the sole, you’ve got two flavors of cushioning: Zoom Air on the forefoot and Air Max on the heel.
Aside from providing more stability, the plastic heel counter also allowed Nike designer Jason Petrie to offer wilder, contrasting designs on the rear part of the shoe. Like they say, business in the front, party at the back.
Here are the four colorways revealed by Nike:
Empire Jade
Multicolor
Los Angeles By Day
Reflections
The LeBron 18 will debut in the "Empire Jade" colorway in the Greater China region on September 21. The "Multicolor" will drop in the United States on October 9, while the "Los Angeles By Day" colorway arrives about a month later on November 6. No release date for the "Reflections" style has been announced.
