IN a vibrant celebration of culture, creativity, and collaboration, the streetwear scene in the Philippines witnessed S.E.A. No Bounds, S.E.A. No Borders Collection, a fusion that brought together three of Southeast Asia's most influential streetwear brands: DBTK (Don’t Blame the Kids) from the Philippines, Ageless Galaxy from Indonesia, and Pestle & Mortar Clothing (PMC) from Malaysia.
The intimate gathering kicked off in Manila last week, the collection’s first launch, followed by events in Malaysia on December 5 and Indonesia on December 7.
The event marked the beginning of the collaboration, was attended by its brand owners, including Giorgi Krisno and Tamish Aswani from Ageless Galaxy, Hugh Ko and Jack Gan from Pestle & Mortar Clothing, and Emil and Vince Javier from DBTK.
Streetwear haven
During the event, the owners from different cultures and upbringings talked about the long process of the collab as it took several years of planning and coordination before the three brands could align their schedules and collaborate.
“This whole collection was designed through our WhatsApp group chat and Zoom calls, which is wild and also amazing,” Tamish from Indonesia said.
The journey of collaboration between Ageless Galaxy and Pestle & Mortar Clothing dates back to six years ago, when the two brands first teamed up for a successful collaboration.
With its success, its partnership sparked the idea of expanding the concept to include DBTK, a brand known for its vibrant energy and distinct identity within the Philippine streetwear scene, to further amplify the street culture in Southeast Asia.
“We were just talking about how many more cities we’re going to bring to this,” Tamish added, hinting that this collaboration is just the beginning of a broader movement to unite streetwear creators across the region.
The release featured three graphic tees with vibrant designs and a workwear coach jacket.
The S.E.A No Bounds, S.E.A No Borders collection is already available in the Philippines at all DBTK stores.
