CLEVELAND Cavaliers star LeBron James is on a tear in the 2016 NBA Finals as he dropped back-to-back 40-point games, a feat last done by Shaquille O'Neal 16 years ago, against the Golden State Warriors to force a Game 7 set on Monday.
But it's not just the stats the fans are taking notice as James is playing his best games while wearing the new Nike LeBron Soldier 10 PE in lieu of his trademark Elite signature kicks.
It isn’t any surprise that The King once more rocked his signature line’s takedown shoe in a 41-point effort in Game 6 at the Quicken Loans Arena as the Cavs forced the deciding game.
What's pleasantly surprising is the new colorway of the LeBron Soldier 10 he debuted Friday, a white and gold rendition of the triple-strapped team kicks, nicely accented with an icy translucent sole.
James also repeated what he did for his first Soldier 10 pair by writing the initials of his children, Bronny, Bryce and Zhuri, on the cross-straps.
With LeBron’s switch to the Soldiers, sneakerheads are speculating as to whether there are performance issues with the flagship Nike LeBron 13 Elites. But regardless of the reason, the switch has been working for James who has led the Cavs back from the brink of a 1-3 series deficit against the Warriors.
