Of course, Kelly Oubre would have himself for an answer when he was asked who has the best style in the NBA.
The Phoenix Suns forward recently did an AMA (Ask Me Anything) with Bleacher Report, and he was met with an array of questions about the league, college basketball, and his headline-grabbing fashion choices.
Two years ago, Kelly turned heads when he hit the court wearing a Supreme x Nike leg sleeve, which the NBA had him change. The rising 3-and-D player has been known for his wild game and even wilder pre-game fits, so such query on the league's best-dressed didn't really come as a surprise. His response, however, isn't exactly the first name that comes to mind.
When asked by user @roothly who has the best looks in the Association, Tsunami Papi replied with a slight jab, "At this point man...other than myself.. I'm gonna have to go with Jordan Clarkson. He's in Cleveland, so you don't get to see him a lot, but he can really put it together."
In an basketball red carpet that is usually dominated by him, as well as Houston Rockets teammates Russell Westbrook and James Harden, Kelly giving props to the Fil-Am Cleveland Cavaliers guard says a lot about the latter's lowkey yet effective passion for fashion. Heck, Jordan barely looked out of place when he recently crashed a wedding in shorts and sneakers.
Scrolling through JC's Instagram feed, it isn't hard to see why Kelly views him as one of the NBA's style mavens.
The 23-year-old Sun also answered other fashion-related questions:
@YGMeech: Do you dress yourself or you got a stylist?
I dress myself. I don't have a stylist and will never have a stylist.
@lilsidthefnskid: Will you bring back the Supreme sleeve?
No. They told me I couldn't wear that thing ever again. They don't pay me. JR Smith actually got the deal after I did it!
@Baghunter: Are you gonna trim your hair down a little?
No. I would never cut my hair again. Last time I trimmed my hair was my freshman year in college. I was devastated. I will never do that again.
@jlafontaine: What made you choose to sign with Converse?
I signed with Converse because it was the most organic collaboration I could've done. They came to me last out of every shoe company. They gave me the most creative control and a platform to be different than everyone else. I'm the only one flying the flag right now.
@byufan1984: What is your favorite pair of shoes?
Converse x Disney collabs. They got the red stripe on the back with the black fur on them.
@AzBirdGang11: Best shoe game on the Suns?
Book. Book is a Nike athlete. He knows rappers. He's got the plug.
@orunychoi: Do you have a signature shoe coming?
