CARMELO Anthony played with an extra bounce to his step last Friday (Saturday, Manila time), and not only because he was motivated to end a four-game losing streak against crosstown rival, the Brooklyn Nets.
The New York Knicks’ star debuted the latest edition of his signature shoe with Jordan Brand, the Jordan Melo M12, as he led the way with 28 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists in an easy 108-91 win against the Nets at the Madison Square Garden.
The eye-catching debut colorway of the Jordan Melo M12 bears special significance.
According to Nike News, it’s Anthony’s way of paying tribute to “the dungeon” — a rec center in Baltimore where he found a safe haven and a place to sharpen the basketball skills that led him to the success he enjoys now.
Aside from its aesthetic appeal, the shoe’s technology also fits well with Anthony’s game. It’s designed to be lightweight, flexible, and stable, thanks to a mesh upper, asymmetrical webbing loops, and streamlined ankle and heel support.
On the sole, two Zoom Air units and FlightSpeed technology allows better cushioning and responsiveness to deliver fluidity and explosiveness to every step.
The Jordan Melo M12 will be globally available starting January 2, 2016.
