JJAY Alejandro finally cut his hair after growing it long for several years, but it wasn’t purely for a new look.
The TNT guard grew his hair with a purpose of donating it later to cancer patients.
“Nung una pa lang, may purpose na ‘yung pagpapahaba ng buhok ko,” said Alejandro, who sported a ponytail while on the court back when he had long hair.

The former National University standout actually let his hair grow during the lockdown as barber shops were closed as part of COVID-19 quarantine restrictions.
The 27-year-old got the idea to donate his hair from his wife, who is now a doctor.
“Nung una kasi, walang mapagupitan. Sige, pahabain ko na lang,” said Alejandro, who never cut his hair since signing with TNT as an unrestricted free agent in the earlier part of 2020.
After two years, Alejandro finally decided to cut his hair when the restrictions eased.
Puwede na,” said Alejandro.
Alejandro said he had already sent the hair to a facility precisely for that purpose.
“At least, nakatulong,” said Alejandro.
