JERSEY numbers are usually chosen for special reasons, be it a birthdate, anniversary, or inspired by an idol.
Ateneo star Thirdy Ravena, however, chose to have zero on his playing uniform.
The second playing son of Bong and Mozzy, shared the reason why.
“Pinili ko yung zero kasi it’s the number of people that can stop me from chasing my dreams,” he said on Thursday during the national team training at the Meralco gym.
“So ako, bilang basketball player, pangarap ko to become the best player that I can be, the best version of myself,” he added.
Thirdy pointed out that his jersey number is a constant reminder for him that he’s got nothing to lose and everything to gain.
“Wearing zero on my jersey always reminds me that no one can stop me aside from myself, so kung may gusto ka dapat ibigay mo talaga lahat kasi there’s no excuse eh,” he said.
“Ikaw lang naman ang magsa-stop sa sarili mo kung ano ang gusto mong ma-achieve,” he added.
“Actually pwede rin siya na another day is a chance to get better kasi back to zero, everyday binibigyan ka ng chance ni Lord, parang back to zero,” he continued.
