IF Adamson University coach Air Padda had a choice, she would want her players to wear a different uniform.
Not that she was embarrassed after losing to the University of Santo Tomas in the UAAP Season 81 women’s volleyball tournament, but the outspoken American coach just isn’t happy with how their jerseys look.
The Lady Falcons’ jersey is plain white with blue trim and the team name in all caps. The shorts look like the 70’s short shorts with white trims.
Padda expressed her disappointment after the five-set loss, 21-25, 21-25, 26-24, 26-24, 15-6, on Sunday at the MOA Arena.
“It’s a little dull,” she said.
“I didn’t design it, usually I have a say on what they wear down to the jackets and warmer but now I don’t have a say on it so this was my first time seeing it too. And honestly, it’s not the best design and I don’t like it,” she added.
Padda explained that their main concern is their campaign in the UAAP and whatever that distracts them is a big no-no for her.
“It doesn’t matter what we play in but I know when the players feel good with what they’re wearing, they kind of feel good and it helps their confidence on the court,” she said.
“Because when you look good, you feel good and sadly I didn’t have a say this conference. Sayang,” she added.
If she had a choice as she did in the past seasons, here’s what she had in mind.
“They [players] would be in super, super clean [jerseys],” said Padda. “I’m from the States, I like simple but not like just a shirt that is blue.”
“I would have designed something with maybe like two colors, like a fade. There’s so much that I wanted to do. They [players] know me, I’m super stylish,” she added.
