At Timberland Heights, a go-to loop for runners and mountain-bikers looking to escape Metro Manila without going too far, the brand let the terrain do most of the talking.
Loose gravel, short climbs, and uneven footing made for a more honest first run than any product briefing.
The 7K guided session, led by Dan Hilaria, wasn’t about pace as much as it was about feel. Runners settled into the climbs and opened up on descents, getting a read on how the Speedgoat 7 holds up when the trail shifts underfoot.
Early impressions leaned toward dependable grip and cushioning that stays consistent without feeling overly soft.

It’s a setup that favors control and durability, useful traits once the trail stops being predictable.
Ultra trail veteran Ronald Natividad, an Asia Trail Master 2-star Grandmaster, joined the run and pointed to traction and protection as the make-or-break factors on technical courses—areas where the Speedgoat line has typically delivered.
The launch is part of HOKA’s broader “Run Wilder” push, but in Timberland, the focus stayed local. No dramatics, just a straightforward test on familiar ground—and a clearer picture of how the Speedgoat 7 performs when it actually counts.
