MULTI-TITLED volleyball star Rachel Anne Daquis has always wanted to immerse herself in a total gym and workout experience at a price she could afford.
But skyrocketing fees have kept her from going to the gym as regularly as she would have wanted. This has prodded the Cignal team captain to put on her entrepreneurial hat and establish her very own RAD Fitness Gym in her hometown of Taytay, Rizal.
Her mission is to create a welcoming space that encourages everyone to have an active lifestyle.
“Naisipan kong mag-open ng business na gym kasi before I was having a hard time na pumunta sa mga gym kasi medyo namamahalan ako actually," she said. "‘Yung walk-in fee nila is P500. So nakapag-isip ako na mag-put-up ng business na hindi ko na iisipin na mahal ang bayad. Here very affordable, complete facilities.”
RAD Fitness, which has branches in Taytay, Imus, and Cadiz has an annual membership fee of P500. You also have options to enroll in various courses, depending on your fitness requirement and openness to try out all types of equipment at the gym.
Shell out P799 for the RAD Basic Course, which includes all-access to equipment and functional areas; P1,199 for the RAD Level Up, which enables you to join group classes (except boxing) and access to equipment.
If you want guidance from one of RAD Fitness' seasoned trainers, RAD Power Up, which includes personal training for 10 + 1 sessions, will cost you P2,500. For the same fee, you can attend 10 + 1 group boxing classes as well.
Personal training can be had for P250 a session, the same fee you have to pay for a session of the gym's boxing class. Zumba classes are also offered for P60 pesos per session.
Meanwhile, gym use fee for walk-in enthusiasts goes for P80, another P70 will grant you an all-access privilege for the day.
Daquis, a fitness enthusiast and two-time FHM cover girl, says the investment is a win-win situation for her. “Good investment ang gym kasi personally makakapag-workout na ako at makakapagpakundisyon.”
