Enter the ASICS GEL-RESOLUTION X, which was officially introduced on Sunday at an exclusive event at Singapore’s Kallang Sports Hub, coinciding with the championship day of the WTA Singapore Open.
Athletes from across SEA gathered to test the new shoes, training against the backdrop of the region's only first-world country, where both the environment and the competition are intense.
Filipino representatives included tennis player and celebrity Maika Rivera, beauty queen Gazini Ganados, and fashion designer and tennis player Bang Pineda.

Malaysian national team coach Muliyadi Jamal led the groundwork for the event, organizing plays for beginners, intermediates, and pros.
And for Jamal, the new GEL-RESOLUTION X is the best release from the brand yet.
“It’s suitable for the tropical weather, as SEA players usually go for the hard court, which is specifically meant for that. The outdoor sole is comfortable enough, as it’s good for movement and impact all around the court,” he told SPIN.ph.
Jamal also emphasized that good shoes often contribute to a tennis player’s performance.
“In tennis, where most of the time you’re moving, running, and even sliding, the material of what you’re wearing affects everything. Players need good shoes to protect their ankles for safety. Your practice shoes are your competition shoes,” he continued.
With the GEL-RESOLUTION X, comfort and stability were prioritized with a higher medial ankle cut to provide support during intense movements and prevent ankle twists.
It also features a two-piece midsole structure, combining Flyfoam tech in the forefoot and FFblast Plus EcoFoam in the rearfoot for extra cushioning.
Moreover, ASICS updated the previous version’s 'Dynawrap' to 'Dynalacing,' adding more laceholes to the shoe for a custom preferred fit.
