NOT just men, but female sneakerheads can soon get to enjoy a modern take on a Nike classic.
The footwear giant is set to release not just one, but three new versions of the Air Force 1 in the Shadow, Shell, and Reflective.
The Air Force 1 Shadow is as functional as it is fresh, having a “slightly higher mid-sole providing a modern lift and core-outed outsole making the shoe lighter and more comfortable."
Nike Women’s Footwear senior creative director Georgina James explained the inspiration behind the fresh take on the iconic shoes.
"We know women are infinitely diverse. They want something unique, and they want to use sneakers as an expression of themselves and their wardrobes. They also have deep respect and love for the icon," James said.
"Air Force 1 Shadow is a great example of how we channel desire and create new expressions through silhouette, shape and details, something unique but still familiar each season," she added.
The Air Force 1 Shell, as its name suggests, is derived from a hard-shell jacket or a water-resistant hooded jacket and incorporates details on its cord to allow flexible shaping.
The AF1 Reflective, for its part, combines pebbled leather with 3M to enable better visibility in low-light conditions.
The Air Force 1 Shadow, Shell, and Reflective are each priced at P5,795, with the Shadow launching on October 3 in the US and in the Philippines later this year in select Nike stores. The Shell will be released on November 1, while the Reflective will be launched on December 1.
