Kick Drop: Bend it like Beckham in the adidas Ultraboost 19 DB99

Nov 6, 2019

It has been quite some time since 1991 that we probably don't remember what was it like a couple of decades ago. Heck, most of us weren't even born back then.

Football legend David Beckham was very much alive at the time, and you could say he was at the top of his game. The year was significant for him — he was instrumental in Manchester United's illustrious UK Treble, had his eldest son Brooklyn in March, and tied the knot with wife Victoria in July.

To mark the anniversary of his career and personal milestones from 1999, adidas teamed up with David to release the limited edition Ultraboost 19 DB99 running shoes:

The important alphanumeric combination can be found on the tongue label and sole of each sneaker. The fabric of the Ultraboost 19 is lighter than previous iterations, while breathing pads are bigger for enhanced breathatbility.

The DB99 comes with a streamlined shape and smooth lines on the top and sole for a "natural wearing experience."

"This pair of shoes is extraordinarily special to me," David said. "The colors chosen for the design are white with a flash of orange. I have always loved white trainers. The eye-catching fluorescent orange and the letters DB99 in black are a perfect match."

More important, the model carries the Ultraboost line's tech innovations. The Primeknit 360 Vamper cut allows the wearer to exercise comfortably, while insole Boost adapts to every movement. The Torsion Spring system in the midsole also guarantees landing stability.

The adidas ULTRABOOST 19 DB99 running shoes officially launched on November 1 and retails for P9,300.
