USUALLY painting multiple mediums, local artist Yeo Kaa's latest project added vibrance to the classic Adidas silhouette, Rivalry 86 Low.
Yeo Kaa, an Art Fair favorite who is best known for her candy-colored animated characters, labeled the colorway "Strong Girl Needs Rest Too" as it boasts a bright green and blue stripe over the off-white upper.
These colors which represent 'calmness' and 'freshness' are anchored on her deep history of facing adversity when she first introduced herself to the creative industry.
"'Yung concept ng shoes is about strength. 'Yung pinaka-pinaghuhugutan ko ngayon is yung feeling na akala ko hindi na matatapos yung ganong pakiramdam na masama at mabigat," she explained. "But, lilipas at lilipas rin pala siya at magiging okay rin ang lahat sa huli."
A graphic print of the word "strong" in Kaa's own typeface can be found in the midsole as her signature characters also made several appearances including the heel, and front upper.
Yeo Kaa followed the likes of fellow Pinoy artists Quiccs and Egg Fiasco who once collaborated with the brand for a signature line.
Adidas x Yeo Kaa is now available in adidas Brand Center, adidas NBHD Greenbelt, adidas NBHD Bonifacio High Street, atmos, Commonwealth, Titan Philippines, and Footlocker Philippines.
