THE Philippine Dragon Boat Federation (PDBF) team captured one gold and two silver medals in the 11th Asian Championship recently in Macau.
The Cobra-PDBF team won the men’s 500-meter race, clocking two minutes and 4.486 seconds to beat China (2:05.094) and Thailand (2:05.706).
The Philippine squad placed second in the 200m mixed standard with a time of 46.682 seconds, behind the Chinese team, which timed 46.248 seconds.
The PDBF team also took the silver in the 500m mixed standard, checking in at 1:59.072 behind Chinese Taipei (1:58.736).
The Filipino paddlers are preparing for the first Dragon Boat World Cup set June 9 to 13 in Fuzhou, China.
