    Four Filipino wushu bets earn finals shot at gold medal in SEA Games

    DIVINE Wally, Evita Elise Zamora, Denbert Arcita, and Jessie Aligaga reached the finals of their respective events in the sanshou competitions of the 27th Southeast Asian Games in Myanmar, putting them on track to win the first gold medal for Team Philippines.

    Wally, 18, defeated Chi Leng Lim of Malaysia in the women’s 48kg, while Aligaga beat Van Bau To of Vietnam, 2-1, in the men’s 48kg.

    In the 52kg, Zamora blanked Danusone Buddybuasisavath of Laos, 2-0, and Arcita bested Indonesia’s Harba Sibuea, 2-0.

    “We're very happy because we have the most number of finalists, giving us a better chances of hitting our target,” said Wushu Federation of the Philippines secretary general Julian Camacho, who is targeting at least three gold medals for the team.
