UNIVERSITY of Santo Tomas pulled off what no other team has done in the UAAP judo competition as the Tigers captured the titles in all divisions of the Season 79 tournament at the De La Salle-Zobel Gym on Sunday.
The Tigresses judokas scored a three-peat, while the men's squad regained the crown they lost to Ateneo last season.
UST's boys (43 points) and girls' (68 points) teams also emerged as champions in their respective divisions.
"May similarity kami (UST teams): yung puso namin," said Tigresses coach Gerard Arce.
"Yun ang battlecry namin, kahit na panis na yung salita. Ever since kasi kami hindi kami pwedeng papasok ng mats na hindi mo ibibigay lahat," he added.
The Tigresses were simply in a different league as they dominated the women's division with 74 points. University of the East came in second with 23 points.
Sueko Kenji claimed the MVP honors and led the way for the Espana-based judokas, who followed up a record-breaking season last year where they amassed 86 points.
Meanwhile, UST's men's team had 49 points, just 13 points ahead of runner-up Ateneo. University of the Philippines wound up third.
