Judokas do their share after bagging two golds courtesy of Ramirez, Watanabe

THE Philippine judo team captured two gold medals on Friday in the 2013 Southeast Asian Games in Myanmar.

Fil-Japanese Kiyomi Watanabe ruled the women’s -63 kg division after beating Thi Hoa Bui of Vietnam, while Gilbert Ramirez won over Iksan Apriyadi of Indonesia to rule the men’s -73 kg weight class.

It was the country’s first two gold medals on Friday as the Philippines tries to overtake Singapore for sixth place in the medal tally with two days left before the biennial meet comes to a close.

Jennielou Mosqueda settled for silver in the -57 kg class.

Angelo Gumila and Ruth Duguduga capped off the judokas campaign on Saturday.
