CARLOS Yulo reasserted his supremacy in the floor exercise, winning the gold during the apparatus final of the 2024 AGU Artistic Gymnastics Asian Championships in Tashkent, Uzbekistan on Saturday.
Yulo recorded a score of 14.933 to wrest the gold medal, beating Milad Karimi of Kazakhstan (14.600) and Yang Yanzhi of China (14.200).
Three-peat for Carlos Yulo
The Paris Olympics-bound Yulo is now an Asian champion in the floor exercise for the third consecutive time following wins in Singapore in 2023 and Doha in 2022.
Yulo is also an eight-time Asian gold medalist, having also bagged his first-ever all-around gold in the competition last Thursday.
Yulo’s output in the floor exercise final was slightly lower than his score in the qualification round where he had a 15.233, but his effort was still good for a gold.
