CASH incentives continue to grow for Carlos Yulo even as August, a memorable month for the Filipino gymnastics, draws to a close.

The good thing for the two-time Olympic gold medalist is that he has all the time to enjoy the benefits he has received from different sectors.

Yulo revealed that he will no longer be in action for 2024 after his successful stint in the Paris Olympics earlier this month to take a well-deserved respite, and will return to training next year where he is scheduled to compete in a couple of tournaments including in the Southeast Asian Games in Thailand later in 2025.

For now, it’s R and R for Yulo once he finishes his other commitments, a product of his newfound success, in the coming months especially after he once again received a cash incentive to the tune of P5 million from Digiplus and ArenaPlus.

“Right now, hindi pa po ako nakagawa ng mga plano at all kasi punong-puno kasi ang schedule. Hindi ko ineexpect na ganito ang mangyayari,” said Yulo in a press conference at the Gateway 2 Mall Cinema 11.

“Pero kapag kumalma na lahat, gusto ko rin mag-take ng time magpahinga at planuhin ng maayos kung saan ako sasali na mga competitions para makapag-prepare ako ng maayos at healthy.”

On the SEA Games, Yulo said: “Yes, lalaro po ako sa SEA Games.”

“September, October, November, December, I want him to him to rest because he has been training so hard,” said Carrion. “2025, he will start full force.”

Carrion said GAP has big plans for Yulo as he prepares for the long term including the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

“He wants to win the gold medal for all-around. When you say all-around, that's six apparatus and that's going to be very, very difficult. So he will be training very hard, and I just pray he doesn't get injured because once you get injured it's very difficult. That's our prayer, that he doesn't get injured," Carrion stated.

“And we have big plans, we are going to get a lot of coaches from other players, we are going to send him to training camps wherever, England, Korea, Japan, all these places so he gets experience."

Meanwhile, Yulo renewed his partnership with DigiPlus and ArenaPlus during the press conference.

“DigiPlus is immensely proud to support champions like Carlos, whose relentless pursuit of excellence embodies the spirit of the Filipino people,” said DigiPlus chairman Eusebio H. Tanco.

“I’m deeply grateful to DigiPlus and ArenaPlus for celebrating this win with me, and recognizing my perseverance. Success does not come overnight–it is made possible with the support of those who believe in you. I’m honored to have incredible partners by my side as we chase dreams for the Philippines,” said Yulo, who also received a plaque from DigiPlus and ArenaPlus for his Olympic feat.
