CALOY Yulo claimed the gold in the floor exercise of the 55th All-Japan Seniors Championship, a competition that is part of his build-up for the world championship next month.
Yulo’s coach Munehiro Kugimiya reported on his Facebook account the victory of Yulo, who also took the silver in the team event and bronze in the vault. Scores were not indicated in the post.
Kugimiya said Yulo wasn’t able to compete in the other apparatus as he endured an injury in his finger.
Kugimiya said Yulo is now building up for the World Artistic Gymnastics Championship set from October 29 to November 6 in Liverpool, United Kingdom.
The Japanese coach said Yulo will soon be leaving for Paris for a training camp before heading to Liverpool for the World Championship.
Yulo will be defending his vault title he won last year. He also captured silver in the floor held in Kitakyushu, Japan.
