YUKA Saso put herself in position for a second straight victory on the Japan LPGA with a third-round 68 on Saturday in the Nitori Ladies Golf Tournament in Hokkaido.
Winner of the NEC Karuizawa tournament in Nagano, Saso had a solid start on moving day at Otaru Country Club, getting to four under with five birdies and a bogey on the first nine.
It was a quiet homeward nine, however, for the Fil-Japanese golfer as she made par throughout, moving to 12 under for the tournament.
Saso stood a stroke ahead of Sakura Koiwai, who had a bogey-free 66 for a 205 total.
Muguruma Hinano fired a 69 for 208, which was matched by Hikaru Yoshimoto with a 71.
Mayu Hamada was at 209 in solo fifth after a 70, a stroke ahead Chie Arimura who shot the day’s best 65.
