YUKA Saso had a tough second round in the ANA Inspiration, firing a one-under 71 on Friday at Mission Hills in Rancho Mirage, California (Saturday, Manila time).
The Filipina-Japanese golfer made five birdies against four bogeys to join a big group in 12th at 140 that included Christina Kim, who shot a second straight 70.
Patty Tavatanakit of Thailand held on to the top spot, adding a 69 to her opening 66.
Former women’s PGA Championship winner Shanshan Feng of China also carded a 69 to stay a stroke behind, while former LPGA Rookie of the Year Moriya Jutanugarn of Thailand was in third at 137 after also firing a 69.
Bianca Pagdanganan, the other Filipina in the field, submitted a 73 after an opening 75, missing the cut by three.
