YUKA Saso has climbed to No. 8 in the latest Rolex World Rankings even without joining a tournament.
Saso upped her world rankings by one spot after Korea’s Hyo-Joo Kim went down to ninth for her 57th-place finish in the LPGA Mediheal Championship.
The 19-year-old Saso jumped from 40th to ninth last week after becoming the first Filipina to win a golf major by ruling the 76th US Women’s Open in San Francisco, California in a playoff.
Aside from Saso and Kim, there were no changes in the Top 10 of the world rankings with Korea’s Jin Young Ko staying at No. 1 followed by In Bee Park, Sei Young Kim, Nelly Korda, Brooke Henderson, Danielle Kang, and Lexi Thompson.
Nasa Hataoka, who placed runner-up in the US Women’s Open, stayed at 10th.
