THE 1st Lualhati Cup golf tournament is set May 27 at Wack Wack Golf and Country Club to raise funds for programs of Univesrity of the East UE Alumni Association Inc.
Proceeds of the tournament will be used for the UE alumni scholarship program as well as UE students who were victims of the super typhoon Yolanda.
The event is also being held in honor of organizer Dr. Jesus Tanchanco Sr., who passed away on April 14, 2014, at the age of 83.
Tanchanco played competitive tennis in his younger days, was involved in the sports program “Project: Gintong Alay” when he held the position of National Food Authority chief administrator, and worked as team manager of the Red Warriors men’s basketball team from 2009 to 2013.
