TONY Lascuña hit a 12-foot birdie putt off the fringe on the first playoff hole to edge Dutch Guido Van der Valk and American Micah Shin in the on Saturday in the ICTSI Bacolod Golf Challenge at Bacolod Golf and Country Club.
Lascuna fired a bogey-free five-under 65 for a 10-under 270 to join the playoff.
“I just got lucky my putt off the fringe went in,” said Lascuña.
Shin bogeyed No. 17 and ended up with a 68 but missed the green in the playoff. Van der Valk also had a closing five-under card but flubbed his birdie putt from long range in the playoff.
“I played perfect golf at the back, hit all the fairways and greens and made two birdies,” said Lascuña.
With another P270,000 win, Lascuña hiked his earnings to P2,143,115. Shin and Van der Valk received P145,000 each.
Jay Bayron had an even round for a 272 total for solo fourth, while Cassius Casas shot a 68 for joint fifth with at 274 with Mhark Fernando, who it two birdies in the last five holes for a 68.
Zanieboy Gialon turned in a bogey-free 66 for a 276 total, which was matched by Jhonnel Ababa and Jerson Balasabas, who closed out with identical 67s, and Sumcad, who stumbled with a 71 in the ninth leg of the circuit backed by Custom Clubmakers, adidas, KZG, Summit Mineral Water, Srixon, Pacsports, TaylorMade, Sharp and Champion.
