Patcharajutar Kongkraphan, a seasoned golfer with an impressive record of 20 titles worldwide, is set to elevate the competition at the ICTSI Luisita Ladies International 2024, intensifying the excitement surrounding the $100,000 championship scheduled to tee off on Tuesday at the Luisita Golf and Country Club in Tarlac.
With victories on prestigious circuits like the Thai LPGA and Epson Tour, the 32-year-old Thai golfer emerges as a formidable contender in the tournament, jointly sanctioned by the LPGA of Taiwan (TLPGA) and the Ladies Philippine Golf Tour.
Seeking redemption after narrowly missing out on victory in last year’s ICTSI Anvaya Cove Ladies International, Kongkraphan faces formidable opposition from a talented pool of competitors, including top-ranked players from the TLPGA such as No. 2 Yu-Ju Chen, Jo Hua Hung, Yi-Tsen Chou, and Chih Yun Wu.
The championship, supported by ICTSI and serving as the third leg of the TLPGA and fourth stop of the LPGT, promises thrilling action across 54 holes.
Local talents, spearheaded by Harmie Constantino, are geared up for a fierce battle, aiming to secure triumph on home turf. Constantino, fresh from back-to-back victories at Rancho Palos Verdes and Caliraya Springs, is determined to extend her winning streak at the challenging Robert Trent Jones, Sr.-designed course.
Joining Constantino are other local contenders like Daniella Uy, the reigning LPGT Order of Merit champion, alongside Princess Superal, Chanelle Avaricio, Chihiro Ikeda, Florence Bisera, Mikha Fortuna, Sarah Ababa, and newcomers Mafy Singson and Lois Kaye Go.
As anticipation mounts for the tournament, a select group of professionals will partake in the traditional pro-am event on Monday, providing a glimpse of the competitive spirit and camaraderie that define the sport.
Meanwhile, among the top players from Thailand competing in the event organized by Pilipinas Golf Tournaments, Inc. and supported by PGTI official apparel Kampfortis Golf, are Wannasiri Sirisampant, Chonlada Chayanun, Onkanok Soisuwan, Nemittra Juntanaket, Ploychompoo Wilairungrueng, and Mookharin Ladgratok, all former LPGT leg champions.
Also representing Thailand are Pakin Kawinpakorn, Kultida Pramphun, Queen Meeson-us, Alisara Wedchakama, and Unyong Polnamin, adding to the competitive mix of talents vying for glory at the prestigious event.
