PRINCESS Superal came through with a bogey-free six-under 66 to get past ICTSI-The Country Club teammate Dottie Ardina and snatch a two-stroke lead after three rounds of the True Visions International Junior Golf Championship 2013 in Bangkok.
Superal, who bounced back from a so-so opening 71 by matching Ardina’s second round 68, knocked down three birdies on both nines, including a six-footer on the final hole to preserve a 33-33 card. She had a 205.
Ardina, seeking a follow-up to her Thailand Ladies Open (18-20) title last week, hit four birdies but had two bogeys as she settled for a 70, dropping to second with a 207, heading to the final 18 holes of the annual event.
The fight for the premier Class A crown is reduced to a two-player affair as Taiwanese Yi Ching Wu fell nine strokes off Superal after a 72 for a 214.
Abby Arevalo, meanwhile, slipped farther back in Class B (13-14) after a 76 as she pooled a 222 to trail Thai Paphangkom Tavatanakit, who carded a 74 for a 218. Another Thai Jaravee Boonchant also made a 74 for a 221.
Aguinaldo’s Harmie Constantino wrapped up the 54-hole Class C crown (12-and-under) with a 209 after a 70 as ICTSI’s Sofia Chabon settled for third at 213 after a 70, losing to Pornpawee Thammavichai of Thailand, who had a 74-213, in the countback for runner-up honors.
