THREE lucky golfers will drive home brand-new cars which will be raffled off among a host of high-end prizes when the Southwoods Invitational 2026 gets going on Monday (March 16) at the Manila Southwoods Golf and Country Club's Masters and Legends courses in Carmona, Cavite.
But beyond the competition on the fairways, it is the highly anticipated raffle draw that adds another layer of excitement to one of the country’s premier member-guest tournaments.
Prizes galore
For years, the event has built a reputation for giving away cars even if no player scores a hole-in-one. Mitsubishi Motors Philippines (Mitsubishi Destinator GLX 1.5G Turbo 2WD CVT) and Toyota Silang, Cavite (Toyota Raize 1.2 M/T) have consistently delivered vehicles through the grand raffle draw, ensuring that a few fortunate participants still drive home in brand-new rides when the awards rites are held on March 21.
The AMSI Group of Companies (Calamba Doctors Hospital), Huawei/LF Joy Solar and CWC headline the list of Platinum sponsors, while Bebang’s Halo-Halo, Lavie Kitchenwares and Malveda Properties, Era Health Innovation and Robin Jeon lead the Gold sponsors.
Adding even more buzz this year is BYD, which will stake a BYD Seal DM-Dynamic for a hole-in-one or for the raffle, further boosting the stakes for the tournament’s 800 expected players from 400 teams.
Sponsors are likewise contributing a wide array of luxury prizes, ensuring the raffle remains a major highlight of the week. Ogawa is offering a premium massage chair, while RCI and Baron Travel are putting up a seven-night Mediterranean cruise aboard Brilliance of the Seas for two, complete with airfare.
Meanwhile, Okada Manila is staking a casino free play worth P100,000 for a hole-in-one and will raffle off P200,000 worth of overnight accommodation gift certificates with breakfast should no ace be recorded.
A Mr. Freeze Electric Golf Cart will also be raffled off if it goes unclaimed on the course.
Other prizes reserved exclusively for hole-in-one feats include a Geely car from Monte Rosa Motors, a 158-bottle inverter wine chiller from Cellar Solutions Inc., a Fujimac Luxury Pod Massage Chair from Filhome Builders, a Cobra Tour CB MB iron set from JTen Sports Inc., and a Par Fore golf bag and putter from Philippine Retail.
The impressive prize pool is expected to generate even more excitement for the week-long celebration of competition, camaraderie and fun among members and their guests.
Organizers expect another banner field, underscoring the tournament’s reputation as one of the most sought-after member-guest events in the country.
Competition will be played over 36 holes, with each team seeing action on both the Masters and Legends layouts. Teams will compete under the Team Aggregte format using the Modified Stableford scoring system, which rewards aggressive play and keeps the leaderboard dynamic throughout the week.
While the tournament will crown overall gross and overall net champions, several other honors will also be contested, including titles in Divisions I to V as well as the Guests/Sponsors category, ensuring competitive balance among participants of varying skill levels.
